can anyone tell me if the grilles from an E46 will fit onto an E36?

i need to replace the wiring on my fuel pump (if the wires are moved the pump cuts out) but now it takes a bit longer to start and sometimes won't start at all unless i mess about with the wires a bit, would i be better off replacing the pump aswell?
