I replaced the head gasket on my 1988 735i. Once it was back together, the engine will not turn over. When I turn on the key all of the dash lights come on and the warning bells sound, but the engine does not turn over. It is as if there is some type of disabler. I removed the battery and had it charged and I even put jumper cables on to ensure that it was not the battery. I have checked all the electrical connections and all seem to be OK. Still the engine will not turn over?

Does this car have some type of engine disabler? Could the code on the computer be the culprit? Any Ideas?

try to mturn over by hand ( crank shaft bolt). if it moves manualy, keep looking for electrical problem. it has nothing to do with computer. good luck!
