I do not know if I am missing it anywhere but I cannot seem to find how to program the factory 3-button garage door opener that came with my car. Can anyone help me out here? I've read the manual and it does not seem to say anything about the device.

I have the factory transceiver -- pretty simple to program.

Hold the 1 and 3 buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds to clear memory. Grab your garage (or gate or whatever) remote and hold it a couple of inches away from the BMW transmitter. On the BMW transmitter, press and hold the desired "home" button you'll be using to control the device (garage door or whatever). The indicator light on the BMW transmitter will flash slowly. When it starts flashing, continue pressing and simultaneously press and hold the button on your remote. When the BMW transmitter indicator flashes quickly, the process has been completed.

I used this procedure for all three buttons. #1 opens my garage, #2 opens the gate to my parent's house and #3 opens their garage.

ya as TheBry said you hold 1 and 3 to clear it, first of all remember that the key has to be in the ignition and the lights have to be able to light up. So you program it by holding the button desired and the garage/gate opener button at the same time, at first the light will flash slowly, and then it should get faster (which means the signal is getting fully programed into the system) when it has been flashing a littel while rapidly you can let go and it should be programmed. There may be a problem with like secure garage openers, i think they are coded or something but i can't get it to program, any ideas on that?

It is not standard equipment on the 3-series. It is an add on that you can do yourself or have the dealer do. The cost is like $149-$179 for the part. The labor is about $100 at the dealer. There is a DIY out there somewhere (i forget where) that gives step by step instructions.

I had my dealer throw it in as part of my deal!!!! hehehe
