Hi, I have a problem with idling on my 1993 318is. First a little case history that may help. The rubber bellows in between the throtle assembly and the air intake split a few months ago due to age causing the vehicle to stall all the time and run very rough. When I replaced it the problem improved however now every so often the car will stall when slowing down to stop or pulling up behind a slower moving vehicle on the freeway. The idle seems to be searching in between six hundred and a thousand one revs when I first start the car and also does this when slowing down, except when the revs drop below four hundred the engine dies. A real pain in the butt. The only way that I can drive the car without it stalling is to remove the vacuum line that connects to fuel pressure regulator. I have changed the rocker cover gasket to try and eleviate a possible vacuum leak but to no avail. I also removed and cleaned out the Idle control valve of any carbon build up which negligable anyway. If anyone could help me with this problem it would be great.
