Guys, please tell me that there is an easier way to remove the selector rod on the 540i than taking almost half the car apart! In the manual it states that the exhaust has the be removed and pull down the transmission. to get to the clip on the front. Is that the only way? [bigcry] [:(!]

I dont know about E39's with V8's but all I had to do in my e34 was lower the exhaust by letting it hang (just support the muffler with a jack or something).

I got my MZ3 SSK installed a few minutes ago and took a test drive. I loved it!!!!!1 The car feels like a sports car now. It is 100% better and I will recommend this mod to everyone, it's worth the time and money. The one thing that I will say to someone who is going to do this mod is make sure you jack up the rear wheels. This is the best way to get at that front clip on the first shot...... because of the shape of the driveshaft joint and the location of the bolt that holds it together makes it hard to see. If you jack up the rear of the car you can rotate the driveshaft better to get a better visual on that clip. BTW I didn't buy a weighted selector rod I just did what they did on Understeer and used 1lb solder.

CHEAP AND WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put the Z3 1.9 shifter in my car (its a LITTLE longer throw than the mz3 but it's already bent), and it was a HUGE difference. Best 'upgrade' i've ever done.

Eat cock, retard. I was the only one who tried to help you with this brainless easy upgrade.
I'm sorry that was the only emotion icon I could use to make it short and sweet to say that I agree with you. I really didn't mean anything about it. AGAIN I'M REALLY SORRY. When I read your reply I had to laugh at what you said, you told me to "Eat Cock Retard" [hihi] [hihi] [hihi] [hihi]
I have got to use that!
