I got in my car this morning and it started, but it made a sound like it was struggling to start. It sounding like the battery was real weak. It ran fine after it started. I drove it a good 20 miles and shut it off. I then restarted it about 20 minutes later. Same thing, it struggled, but started.

I got home later this morning. When I went out for lunch, it would not start. It would not turn over at all. It didn't make any clicking noise or anything. I thought for sure the battery was probably toast. It has never been replaced. I looked at the little light on the battery and it was a faint green. I decided to go to the dealer and get a new one anyway. I just put it in and it still won't start.

I checked all of the fuses. They are all good. Does it sound like the fuel pump maybe? I hope it is not the DME!!!!

Any helpful advice on what to check would be great.

Thanks.

It sounds like your alternator has gone bad, get a charger and charge the battery drive for a while and see if the voltage has dropped. If the battery power goes down replace the alternator. If the car runs fine and no voltage drops, replace the battery. If you dont have the resources to do this take it to a local shop and have it checked. They can usually test the alt and see if it has any output. [werd]

It is probably not the alternator because he said he bought a new battery and it still did not work. New batteries have full charge.

If he didn't get a new one then i was going to say alternator but the fact that he put in a new battery and it still didn't work.......
