A/C Noise

Air Conditioning when compressor is running makes clackty- clack noises from compressor area under hood. I had compressor changed. No help. Still does it. So what is making the noise??? Thanks JRH

Try some belt dressing and see if that quiets down the belt. Mine makes some noise as well when the AC is set to max, as long as it is not that bad, I ignore it. Just glad the AC is working well.....especially in Mississippi. My wifes car has a freon leak that the AC shop can not find so I have to add freon every 3 weeks or so. That is cheap....but sucks when the freon goes out.....talk about HOT!!!!

My '96 328i A/C makes noise also while at idle. I don't hear it while driving. My noise sounds as if the electric fan blades are scrapping the radiator as if it is misaligned. (I'm in Fort Worth, TX) And while the engine sound is throaty normally, when the electric fan kicks on, the car exudes a "i'm falling apart" sound.
