a/c problem

I'm new to this board, as well a being a new owner of an e36. The AC compressor doesn't cycle on at all. The green back light on the button works, the vents appear to be switching the airflow properly. Could my ambient air temp probe missing or not working be causing the compressor not to turn on? Might it be a bad relay, if so where is it's location. tia.

I've double checked all of the fuses and they look fine..

check the ballast resistor down by the compressor. there should be a wire going to it also check that for continuity. keep us updated

Check the 134a. If it is low the compressor will not engage. You may have a leak in the condensor. I did, i ordered a new one and installed it myself. The cost to R&R the condessor yourself is only time.
