I have been looking at a certain 325i for a couple weeks now. When I drove it, it drove like a dream.
But, It had a noise which I thought was coming from the tensioner; only because ive heard that they
are noisy and have a tendensy to make a rattle. The kid of which owns the car had to put a new motor
in about a year ago because the last ones timing chain snapped, and you know the rest.
When I told him that I was really interested but I wanted him to have the noise checked out he said
"no problem". But a few days ago he called and said that he did get the car checked out at the bmw dearler
near him and the mechanic told him to put some Z-max on it and it should quite up in a few more weeks. After
saying that he offered to sell the car for much less then he advertized it for. The whole thing seems a little
fishy to me.
