Hey guys, what's going on?
By the way, I'm still having problems with the ABS light. I changed the Break Pad Sensors(thanks BMW! You're right they are a sinch to fix). The onboard computer is telling me everything is alright (the 1-4-4-4 code) but the ABS light still comes on. Could it be an actual knock sensor from the engine or something else I'm over looking. Frustrated in Seattle.

the abs light refers to a failure with the abs system. I could be wrong, but I do not think a knock sensor is even REMOTELY related to the abs system.

If I were you, I would the check the speed sensors on your four corners first(I'm not sure if BMWs have sensors all the way around; I would think they do, but I'm not sure); also, I don't know, but I would think their is an abs diagnostic machine you could hook straight up to your abs system. That would tell you exactly what is wrong with your abs system. I know that Toyota does have that; not sure about BMW though.

If a code of 1444 is coming up, and it says for 1444 "knock sensor" then you probably have two separate problems that need to be addressed. A "knock sensor" is an engine component which (not to be funny) senses when your car is about to 'kncok.' This has nothing to do with braking; at least so I believe.

Good luck.
