please help:

so i guess it's common for the AC to make a hissing/rattling noise when it's on? i've changed all the belt and recharged it with new coolant, i belive the only other factor could be a tensioner pulley somewhere, but i have heard other E36's with this too...

but is it also normal for it to switch off for like 3-5 minutes at a time in 95-105 degree weather?!? maybe i'm just pushing it to extremes in this Texas heat....anyone else have this problem?

how bout the ol' power sport seats? my back will not recline anymore as of yesterday...i hear the motor turning but nothing happens and it started to smell, so i quit trying. has anybody ever attemped to take these apart and fix?

any advice will be greatly appreciated.

i tried fixing mine(seats) when someone broke my switch. basically the 2 wires that power the motors are bipolar. connecting one wire to +12V and the other to GND will move the seat one way and if you switch the wires from +12V > GND and GND > +12V will move the seat in the opposite direction. in your case, maybe the wheel on the motor has fallen off of the track.

*WARNING* if you remove your seat, it can cause your airbag light to turn on. this requires the dealer to reset it or buying a reset tool. Good luck.

A/C noise

In my little Z3 if I close the windows and turn the radio off I can just hear the A/C cycleing (ie: shhhhhhhh / quiet / shhhhhhh, etc.)

I'm going to have it checked when I have the oil changed in a few months unless it gets louder or stops working. It"s probably normal? [paranoid]
