Man that is good to hear. I am happy it worked out well for you. It gives me a vote of confidence about BMW's customer service too. That is one monster of a hole. Has the city done anything about the pothole yet? They really should.

The side door airbag is pretty clean when deployed. I thought it would be much worst, but it doesn’t look that bad. I see what you mean about the headliner. It seems the headliner and trim took most of the beating. Congrats on getting the M back. I know how hard it is not to have around to drive.

I am taking mine in on Oct. 02 for the Service Actions. Rod bearings and something else, I can't remember right off hand. Wish me luck. I have seen what they do to the M's with this action. The motor is pretty much torn completely down. I mean there are parts everywhere. I hope it runs the same if not better, without problems, when I get her back. We'll see........

Yea, the pothole was fixed about a week after my incident. That car that got the two flats probably called a police report in, and as a result the city/town got their asses moving on it.

Same thing here

Driving (325i, 2001) along Winter Street in Waltham MA. Hit pothole with rear passenger wheel and driver's side door and curtain airbags went off!

Total cost to replace airbags $5,000. Apart from airbags the only other damage was one tire!! First insurance claim EVER after driving for over 20 years. What's worse is that the insurance company wants to raise my premium because they claim it's my fault.

Nice to get some advice from the other people here. I have called up BMW but not heard back from them yet.

One thing I did find out is that MA does have 2 state laws under which you can claim money should your car get damage as a result of badly maintained roads. The trick is that you need to file the claim within 30 days of the accident!

I have a draft letter with the details of the MA law if anyone wants a copy.
I'm still arguing with Waltham City lawyers. Apparently it's cheaper to pay lawyers at $250/hr than a a guy on $50/hr to fill in the holes in the road.
