alarm question

hey, I have a 93' 325is. I dont have an alarm in my car and i want to get one. Was my car made with a factory alarm and someone lost the transmitter or do I just need to get an aftermarket one installed? It just seems weird that bmw would make a car without an alarm. If i do need to get one istalled, my car says its pre-wired, how plug and play are the alarms really? would it be difficult to put one in myself?

You sure it does not have an alarm? By transmitter, are you missing a remote? I bought my car and it had one remote, got a second remote off Ebay for 30 bucks and programmed it myself in 3 minutes. I have seen some BMW plug and play alarms out there though. Do you have any remote at all right now? I am hoping you have an alarm but just missing a remote control to activate it. Would be cool if you just needed a remote programmed and all is well.

it would be really cool if i did have an alarm and no remote, how do i tell if i have an alarm installed and just no remote? B/C i dont have a remote.
