Just thought I'd share a simple fix to a strange problem I had. I drive a '98 528i sport with a BMW alarm system. Couple weeks ago, alarm system stopped working with the remote key. Glove box fuses all checked out, turns out it was the door lock fuse in the trunk (7.5A slot#53). New fuse fixed both. I needed to initialize the key again, just followed the procedure in the back of the owner's manual. The alarm has randomly gone off twice in the last year, maybe this will fix it too!?
