Every year, a local pornographer holds an erotica expo in NZ's major cities. Also every year there is a Boobs on Bikes Parade in one of the cities to promote the expo.

The parade is quite a controversial event, but, except for this year, it has had the permission of the governing authorities. This year permission was with-held, but the parade went ahead regardless.

For those of you 18years+ feel free to take a look (URL in violation of the TOS removed)

If you're not into that kind of thing feel free NOT to click the link.

I know this is the wrong part of the forum (should be off topic) but think of it as a present for the e30 fans.

Feel free to discuss below.

Enjoy!

No. The local govt is looking at the possibility of legal action rofl! I suspect its all huffery and puffery to keep the right-wing conservatives happy. In reality I think the municipality likes the free publicity and life it brings to the inner city.

By the way. The protest applied for and obtained consent to march. Its a bit of a big joke really. There have been similar breast cancer awareness parades with equal amounts of nudity, but because this is promoting an erotica expo it gets slammed. I personally don't care one way or another if they can do it or not - I have my own set of boobs at home - but I'm not against the concept. It seems like fun to me.

Apologies for the alleged offensive link. If you're interested go to any reputable new zealand news site (like national newspaper nzherald.co.nz, national tv stations onenews and tv3news or stuff.co.nz) and do a search. Or use good old goolge. There were plenty of pics and video on national tv and newspapers.

Around here, we have the annual "Pride parade", a nude beach, and being topless is legal here anyways, so there's never any issues like that in good ole' Toronto. I don't think anyone in Toronto has beed offended in the last 10 years! :) This has got to be the most relaxed city in Canada.

From Joe's link:

A Canadian tourist who wished to remain anonymous said she was taking photos to show back home because "no one would believe me."

Judge Nicola Mathers of the Auckland District Court said Tuesday the bylaw the council introduced to stop the parade was questionable.

"It is not offensive per se for women to be topless. It may be distasteful to some, but in my view the council reference to offensive cannot reasonably apply in these circumstances," she said.
