Back-up Light

My back up lights are not turning on and I am wondering what I can do to make them work again. The only thing listed in the Bentley manual is replacing the back up light switch located on the transmission. Is there anything else that could be causing the problem?

Blown fuse, bad lamps? Check your lamps and make sure they are the silver based not brass based lamps.

If it were the lamps they wouldn't have burned out at the same time I wouldn't think. What does the silver vs. brass mean?

US lamps are a brass based lamp and Euro lamps are a silver color based lamp. The brass based ones corrode in the Bmw system and are not recommended. Did you check the fuse?
