hey Pete, welcome to bmwboard. I will go google this and see what i come up with. All i know is that at my school people know well enough not to touch my car. but that doesn't make much difference when you are down in the city or something, there are some sweeeet alarms available out there. one other thing before i go off and try to find some legit info, i would think bmw's would be stolen less because of the level of technology that goes into not only their factory alarms, but into the ignition system and other subtle security measures. just my $0.02

someone leaned/stepped or something on my hood, stole my tow hook covers those are the only things that have happened to my car. for security i have a clifford matrix. works good and has some nice features that are able to be added...

The cars are hard enough to steal as they are...I have a black widow alram system on there just so I can have the keyless entry with the "beep beep" sound to go along with it when i click it....I do not have a baseball bat but I do have a nice long black mag-lite for when i'm around it

There is no better protection than good old foam for when you are inside the car. The car is small and when you spray it into someone's face, long story short, no facial hair after a long stay at the hospital.[fake]

A guy I know did that to an idiot that was running to him with a crow bar, don't know what happened to the crow bar guy but it wasn't pleasant for sure. If you never got into trouble with foam, DON'T. It's almost impossible to remove from skin and even worse for your clothes. I don't use it because of the mishaps that could happen and it is just WAY too cruel.

yeah, a 5Der will do it.

concerning the t-rew thing i wouldn't do it, seems to be a waste of money. just get a good alarm. one that notify's you if the car is broken into.

ya good alarm would work, but you need to make sure that the alarm horn is hidden. Last night i was watch a show on how cars get stolen and one thing they do with alarm horns is they spray it with insutation foam, hell they even tow away cars thats why i would be interested i some kind of locking thingy [hihi]

I live in a BIG city and theres organized crime ring with stealing cars and they just tow them away.

there was even one case (audi owner) that the theif's just got the key from the company and drove away with the car, and make sure not to leave your keys near a window or door. They break into homes just for the car keys.

I don't remember whats the exact name but you can get it at home depot. It's that thick stuff that is used for blocking hard to reach holes (mostly in walls or something). After you "spray" it, it starts to expand rapidly and is VERY sticky. I think I had a can of it somewhere, I will get back to you as soon as I get more information.

Found the can of foam. The one I have here is in a black metal container (like a spray paint can) with red and yellow letter on it. The first thing that pops into your eyes is "FOAM & FILL". You don't have to get this one exactly, just look for "Tripple Expanding Polyurethane Sealant" that comes in a foam form. Try it out before using it and I would not recommend getting it on your belongings, I wouldn't recommend getting it on anything but what it was supposed to be used on but if you want to make someone's life misereble, go ahead (sp?). BTW I am really not recommending using it for the pusposes you want it to use, and don't blame me when the guy files a court case agaisnt you for ruining his life. I would never use it on anyone even my worst enemy, yes it's that bad.[B)] [fake]

andreyiv...lol, i didnt mean to imply that I wanted to do life changing damage to the person...just wanted to know what the stuff was all about. my mag lite and alarm will be all the protection I need I believe, but its nice to know theres something out there with that potential

I know what you meant I just said that to demonstrate the actual "power" of the foam. They should make a small can of it for the girls, like pepper spray but much more effective. lol
