Can anyone clue me in to how I can get the bluetooth working in my '03 325i? My manual states to check another manual which I do not have. My steering wheel has the button for it and the back of the car states that my car is prepped for it.

Can I use my Motorola phone with it or do I have to buy something more specific?

Thanks,
JSD

Actually, I just thought of something: My car probably does not have bluetooth because of it's age (the technology probably wasn't around then). Buttons are probably for BMW's own phone system. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks again.

Do you have a microphone on your roof?? Check the place on your roof where your sunroof switch would be and it should look like a rectangle with little plastic slats. It should be black. Also, you would have a 4 digit code somewhere in your manual for the bluetooth to pair with your phone. I use a Motorola V620 with mine, all functions work.

I doubt that an '03 would have BT. If you have/had BMW Assist, then you have the microphone near the sunroof switch. you could check for a BT antenna under the rear ashtray. If there's no antenna there, then no BT. You could order the BT module, antenna and pairing button as discussed in older forums, like I did. Once installed, it works great. Do a search for older forums about BT aftermarket kits. Two to start with are bimmernav.com and advancedautovations.com. BMW may also have cleared the way to let the dealer do it. The kits are around $500-600; add in labor unless you diy.
