My european E36 BMW 320i automatic is acting pretty strange lately. Everything is fine until I take my foot of the gas. The gas/mileage indicator then falls back to about 4l/100km, then quickly falls back to 0. It's like it hesitates for a second before it decides to go back to 0.
The engine's RPM fall back normally when I let go of the gas, but when the engine's RPM reaches exactly 1000, the RPM suddenly goes up again to about 1500/1600. The gas/mileage indicator also goes up again to about 1/3rd (10l/100km) and the car basically keeps driving on it's own. It's kind of like a weird cruisecontrol, but I don't have that. [???1]
When I put the car in neutral, the RPM keep going from 1000 to 1500 to 1000 to 1500 and so on. When it's in Drive and standing still, the RPM hold at 1500, while at normal days the RPM is 700 when standing still.

One day everything's fine, the other day it's like this. It's really a problem in corners, when you try to slow down but the car is speeding up a little (just a little; up to 1500rpm)... ![[driving]](/images/smilies/icon_smile_driving.gif "Driving [driving]")
