Bmw 328i / is

Hey
I am considering buying a 95 328I or 328IS. I am actually debating right now between that and a 95 Mercedes c280....
I just was wondering if anyone knew anything about the 328IS / I, for example Common Mechanical problems, reliability, pros, cons, experiances, recommendations?

How is the speed of this car compared to others?
Any input about anything would be great. Thanks a lot

hey Ryan, welcome to BMWBoard. In 1995 the big 6 cylinder was the 2.5l 325i/325iS. 1996 was when the 2.8l engine came into play. If you are looking for a drivers car then definately get the BMW. I know this is probably what you are expecting to hear at a BMW forum, but the two cars are truly on different levs.

one common problem with the e36's is the plastic water pump they came with out of the factory, most often you will find that the original owner has replaced it, but that is one question to definately ask.
