BMW Alarm

I was looking for a car alarm/keyless entry and I came across an original used one for a decent price and I was mostly just wondering if all e36 car alarm/keyless entry are the same or do I need to specify one specifically for my car. Also does anybody know the part number for an e36 alarm/keyless entry or a good place to look for it.

I believe that the e36 alarm systems are all the same and they should just plug in. Check with your local dealer, he should be willing to give you a part number.

Try www.BMWSecuritySystems.com for a brand new security system package for $199. Adequate instructions for install but vague as to usage. My system works fine.
