i seem to get an inordinate amount of brake dust building up, especially on the front, which would be normal i guess.

anyone else get this?

are there any products you guys (and gals) know of to prevent or at least slow this build-up?

If that's happening, then it's about that time to get new pads. Don't wait till the sensor comes on. Then you'll have to change that too. Just change it now. Trust me. I know this.

thanks!

yeah, i know it's getting close to changing them....i'm going to do it myself and was just pricing out some rotors and pads today.

so you think i should replace the rotors just on spec, or should i wait till i get the wheels off and see what they look like?

I did my brake pads before. Look whatever you do, DO NOT STEP ON THE BRAKES IF YOUR CALIPPERS ARE OFF THE ROTORS. But you can still check the rotors to see if they've already worn. However, i've never done rotor job. Look at the tip of the rotor and see if the inside is worn more. Hope this helps. But change your pads now before the sensor wears too.

Uh, bahn I have the EBC greenstuff on my M3 currently. I would never recommend them to anyone, personally I think they dust almost as bad as the factory pads. As a matter of fact, TireRack quit offering them for the M3.

I would suggest Hawk pads or AXXIS pads. I ran AXXIS on my e30 and they were the lowest dusting pads I've ever seen on a BMW.
