having just replaced the front pads, sensors, and rotors about 5,000 miles ago -- i am bummed that the light popped up on my dash this weekend. is it likely that i can i get away with just pads and sensors and not rotors? anyone have an idea for a shop that can do the work that is better than the local dealership here in Rockville (or Bethesda), Maryland?

only 5000 miles?! Maybe it's your rear pads thar are worn now.

You usually don't need to replace rotors unless they wobble or are indeed worn thin enough to fail a state inspection. Rotors usually last a very long time though.

If a dealer is telling you otherwise, call him on it and watch him/her fumble on what to say next. I'd love to hear what he comes up with.
