i just purchased an aftermarket cdplayer (alpine) for my 93 325i. i have installed MANY cd players before, but never in a bmw. i installed it using a harness. the radio, which wont work because i do not have an adaptor, makes noise, however the cd player reads the cd's and plays them, yet there is no audio at all. i heard that my car has an amp in it...does this have anything to do with it? i do not see why it would, because my cd player has an internal amp. also, i have a 6 disc changer....do i have to do something with this? i do not plan on using it because it is missing the magazine....any ideas....like i said i am very familiar with aduio installations, but new to bmw....so PLEASE, help me out!

ok, i found my amp...so i need to wire the amp in my trunk to the remote wire for my head unit. correct? im not sure which wire is the amp wire....

The BMW factory amp uses a different line level than "standard" amps, and may not work correctly with your head unit. I bypassed the factory amp, installed crossovers, and wired my head unit directly to the speakers.
