hey guys i recently boguth clear tailights and installed them and all the lights work, but the obc says there is a tailight out. Is this common with the clear tailights? They arent from the bmw dealership they are from ebay? Also is there anyway to correct this? Please help. Thanks
I had the same problem with mine (got them off of ebay too). But i figured out that one of the contacts on the plastic sleeve thing that the bulb sits in wasn't touching the metal on the light. I just cut a bit of metal wire and jammed it in there. Im going to solder them sooner or later tho. But the problem is solved.
The problem you are having is that the tailights were not made for the obc cars. There is a metal contact that you have to break aprt the connection in order for the obc not to read a false message. I still have my instructions if you email me I can send you the instructions and it shows you where to snap apart a connection on each taillight.
Mein Ritt, I have those instructions also, but they arent very detailed. Is it the plastic piece underneathe, or is it one of the braces? If you could i would greatly appreciate the instructions you have. my email is [email protected] thanks again.
Funny thing with my car, the OEM BMW lights had the OBC problem, after replacing them with aftermarket ones, no more damn error messages. Stock lights had problems with making a connection.
