Climate control

Does anyone know if the climate control units on the 92-95 e36's can be replaced with the digital climiate control units found on the 96-99 e36's? i'm picking up a 95 m3 and would like to put the digital unit in if it would work. thanks in advance!

i guess that besides the unit you would have to add sensors. the climate automatic depends on sensors to regulate the climate in accordance with your setting. i know there is one sensor in the unit itself, but is it the only one?
