OK, in checking out my suspension it looks like I need to replace the left tie rod. Is this a big deal to do at home? (I have some tools, air compressor etc...)

How about lower control arm bushings? I'm sure they are pressed in, is there a reasonable way to replace them at home without a press?

Thanks for your help and any info you might be able to offer me.

The control arm bushings I did at my uncle's house, and we had to use a press. I don't think you will be able to get around that. As for the tie rod, are you doing the end or the whole assembly? I think the end wouldn't be a problem, though I tried to do one of mine and it was bound up. I ended up taking it in to the shop to do both assemblies to get it over with. But, I think both of those are things you can do at home with a well stocked tool box (and a press).
