Hi,

Has anyone had the plastic rear window in a 318i convertible replaced ? The one in my wife's car was damaged by hail last week (hail as big as golf balls !), and I'm wondering whether it makes economic sense to try to replace it myself (if in fact it can be done without replacing the whole top), or call the insurance company and wear the deductible. Any advice would be appreciated !

Check on ebay there is a guy who sells rebuilt convertable windows. I have a 95 Convert and am considering using him as well. He rebuilds windows using the oem zippers.

That sucks, guess I have been lucky. Yep....just like said, a guy on Ebay sells them that are refurbrished for about 100 bucks or so with your replacement. Doubt he will use one with a hole in it as a core though. It is alot cheaper than a 500 buck deductable if that is what your wife has for comp insurance. I feel for ya though.[:(]
