Cruise Control Inop, and, Removing Rear Seat

I have a 1992 735i. Great car - great condition.

Cruise control recently went completely out. I checked fuses and rear brake light contacts. What else sould be wrong. Is there a on-line schematic for the cruise control system available??

Secondly, I'm not sure how to remove the rear seat to get tot hte battery. I noticed on the passenger side at ankle height that there is a small plastic cover with a bolt or screw underneath it. Could this possibly be for removing the rear seat??

there are no bolts to remove rear seat, just lift it harder. tere are two clips right between legs in front of seat

my 91 750 has a little lever at the front of the seat cushion where it meets the carpet in front..... then you have to remove the power buttons, lift the front of the cushion some so you can get the seat belts out of the way, and presto.... the seat comes up almost enough to get the battery out..... john

carfix is right, if you have adjustable rear seat it is diferent

sorry jay, i misinterpreted your post.... i thought you meant power seats were different than what i said...... i'm not sure how the 840i's seat comes out..... john
