Hi, I'm a first time user long time reader:

My '95 320i (auto) is stalling on some starts.
Starter engine fires well, engine turns over very poorly, sputters, choaks and then stops all together - all in the space of a few seconds. It's not responsive to gas while this is happening.

To me, it sounds like no fuel is getting there. Fuel pump or pressure or something?! I've had the injectors cleaned, and the baseline idle increased slightly just in case - but to no avail.

I would appreciate any help or ideas immensely...

Cheers,
Rami

there are a number of things that can fail between your tank and the engine, but also consider various ignition elements, such as plugs, wires, and especially coils.

welcome aboard.

like frofl said, that might be some various things :(

you've cleaned your injectors? How did you do that?

Ok...
- just check your fuel pressure between your fuel regulator and your fuel-distribution-pipe. The pressure has must be approx. 43,52 psi !
- you can check your injector coils only with your fingers. They have to vibrate if they work well while the motor is running. otherwise you can check the resistance of every injectors (at cold maschine an injector has to be 15-17,5 Ohm)

otherwise you can check the resitance... of the following parts.

- of the throttle valve (between up n' down ~ 4kOhm)

- your air-velocity-unit (start your engine with an additional person and run it 20 sec. over 1000 rpm, then stop the engine and look in your air-velocity-unit. Approx. 4 sec. after stopping the wire has to burn for 1.5 sec.)

- your ingition coil (between 1/- and 15/+ you've to measure ~0,4 - 0,8 Ohm)

Hope it helps...
