I have a 96 328IS. what should I use in the rear end? Is it synthetic gear oil. Do we use a additive? This is what I use in my BMW motorcycle and my Ford F-150. Need to change soon, trip cooming up soon. Barron Von Zipper
It depends on whether you have a Limited Slip Diff. Bentley calls out 2 different fluids:
No LSD - BMW SAF-XO Synthetic
With LSD - BMW SAF-XLS synthetic
Sorry, I don't know what this would be equal to in non-BMW oil.
