I have a 92 bmw 325i. I had noticed that my upper radiator hose was leaking. So i changed it. While changing it i had lost some antifreeze. I had no anti freeze at my house but i didnt want the car to run with low anti freeze. So, like a dumb a$$, i fill the rest up with water. Ever since then i have been losing antifreeze like a mo'fo. My friend said that it is a sign of either a blown head gasket or worse, a cracked head. I had changed the oil a couple of days before the hose. But i don't remember seeing the coffee looking oil effect that comes from a blown head gasket. What should i do?

It's possible that its your coolent level sensor, which is located at the bottom corner of your radiator, my girlfriend has a 92' and that happend to her. The oil would not have been it's usual self when you looked/touched it if it was a head gasket. It is a possiblity that you have a crack either somewhere in your block or head causing it.

does your car have a good amount of white smoke coming out the exhaust pipe? what you can also do is, remove a spark plug and see if you can see any water inside the engine...there's always the alternative, get a pro to look at it.

symptoms of a cracked head are as follows:

car runs like crap,

mayonaise looking oil on the oil cap,

car overheating,

oil or antifreeze noticibly leaking,

car smokes,

bubbling antifreeze in the resevoir while engine cold and running,

thats probably it.

Its pretty difficult to crack your head. you would have had to overheat at some point in time, or something to that extreme. if you are loosing antifreeze and your car runs fine, check your oil for the mayonaise then look elsewhere for green fluid leaks, then if you can't find anything, check the head. Don't waste your money on checking the head just yet.
