Does the X3 key control the power windows i,e can I shut/open the windows using the key?? I saw the sales guy demonstrate this on a 325xi but I am unable to do this on my demo. Is this something that needs to be programed later by the dealer?? Could not wait to speak with the dealer in AM!!!!

I am able to do this on my 2.5i. Only when the key is in the door though. Turn the key to lock the doors, hold it there, in the lock position, and the windows will all roll up, dido for the unlock, all the windows will roll down.

Not sure there is any feature that lets you use a button combination or anything like that on the key.

Hope that helps

You can open the windows and panaramic roof by holding the open button on the remote. This helps to vent a car prior to entry.

There is supposed to be a programmable convenience closing option on the key programming, but so far, I have not heard of anyone able to get this programmed. Otherwise, as mentioned by poorguyx3, you can close all the windows with the key in the doorlock.

You should be able to open all 4 windows and the Panaramic roof (if you have it available) using the key without it in the door lock. You can also open the windows by turning the key (I forgot in which direction) in the key lock and you can close the windows by turning the key in the opposite direction.

I've requested this to be programmed for my X3 when I purchased it.

If your trying the roll down feature just using the remote, you need to have the dealer program it. Otherwise the other post is correct, insert the ket in the door and turn (forgot which way) and the windows will roll down.
