For all of you interested in retrieve the fault codes in your 1992-1995 e36, there is a software/interface duo that do the job for the DME (Digital Motor Electronics). Right now I'm writing a software in Visual Basic to do the same in my '97 328i, the BMWs. Since '96 BMW uses a different communications protocol so the application software is under development. Please let me know at [email protected] and drop an email address in order to send you the software (free of course).

Be happy

Something like that vlad, but it's for non compliant OBDII cars. OBDII protocol is well documented and easy to implement in any programming language because there is a lot of informathion everywhere.

The "grace" of the software I was talking about is that it's for "old" cars using aprotocol named KWP71, a very rare protocol used by BMW.

Bye
