ECU with Conforti Software... help

I bought an ECU that has Conforti software installed in it... I need to do the swap but it will not let my car start... I called BMW dealership around here and they told me that they can't do nothing.... And I also read that the ECU CAN be realigned to work for my car. Has anyone done something like this? or is what the dealership telling me true?

check your fuses. i didn't do a chip install, but I did remove the ECU once and it burned out the anti-theft fuse. I forget what the fuse number is, but its worth a shot.
