expensive? easy to replace? i think mines shot. or it might be the water pump. the engine heat gauge went sky high today. so i think its the thermostat after checking it out. if it was as hot as it said, i should have felt a heat rush when i open the hood right? i could put my hand up and it felt normal....so i think its the thermostat.

yeah, hopefully its the thermostat, but messing around with a shadey water pump is nothing to do, mine went and caused about $1000 worth of damage, (back when i posted pictures of the fan blades all chopped) and when i got done at the shop total was $1700

jeez. yeah i tried to do the thermo, but the radiator is soooo cramed in there, i had no room to work, and i dont have the time to take that out too. i am sure there is a trick, but i have never owned a bmw until 3 months ago, so i am not that familiar with it yet. plus i have to drive to cali on saturday morning, i am in oregon, so a professional job that i dont have to worry about is worth the money. otherwise i would have tried more myself.

yesterday i put it a Nakamichi cd 400, the cd player is playing cd's but i cant hear them. also my right front speaker isnt playing, so i need to go back and check my wiring. hopefully that's all it is, otherwise i wont have a radio for a 17 hour drive, each way.

well. he call me this morning. the idiot i bought this car from bypassed a sensor of some sort, thus giving me a false reading of my temperature, somehow. the guy thats working on it i trust very well, he's been a family friend for as long as i have been alive, so he's not pulling my leg, and he owns a bmw and mercedes repair shop. he says that the overheating has been going on for longer than i knew about, and it has ruined the radiator, thermostat, and some tube. $600 plus oil change and belts....and thats with a 20% discount. so its worse than i thought, but at least everything is beiong taken care of now. and he's checking everything else to make sure this guy didnt f-up anything else. i think i am gonna call this guy and give him just a little piece, not a lot, of my thoughts. and trust me, only a little will be enough. i am PISSED, and thats not a good thing for this guy i bought it from.

hehehe. i called him. ticked him off a little, but reconciled the situation. he told me that if anything else goes wrong, he fix it. he has a shop, but thats why i thought he had done it in the first place. he sounded pretty sincere, but you can never tell. oh well. its all good now, got my anger taken care of :)
