Ever had this happen in your car?

Ever had your heater blower stop and not blowing any air. This is the second time i've experienced this incident. It happened sometime in the summer and now again. It would not blow out any air and after parking the car for the night, i came tomorrow and it's working fine.
Do you know why this is happening?

I've had that happen a few times too. I can't offer any explanation.

do the lights of the ac unit go off? if so, it is the control unit right above the OBC.

i had that, too.

Lights on the climate control unit appear to be all functional. Just the blower doesn't go.

hm...than it is different to mine. still, my guess is the control unit. when the blower does not work, can you still adjust the temperature or does it freeze?

temp appears to work, just the blower quits.

do you have climate control?? it may reach (or think its reached) the correct temp inside the car and shut of the fans to stop reducing/increasing the heat.

Unlikely because the blower won't go even when I have the front windshield defroster on (which overrides everything and sets the blower to max as indicated by the indicator bar)

My control unit is the manual on. Mine is not the automatic ones that you can set the temp. Mine is a 92" that you can set the temp by whining the temp. YOu can't really see what car temp is on the inside.

Most prolly your blower motor is dying on you. Check fuses, relay and when it doesn't blow - make sure there's 12 volts going to the blower motor. If there's voltage - replace the blower motor. (Actually, I've never done it on a BMW - so no idea how mich the fix costs).

check the resistor fan that controls the speed too...
