Extended Warranty on Engine

As I passed over the top of a long, narrow freeway hill, (Highway 17 near San Jose, CA), my engine began to knock and on the way down the hill with no warning the engine failed. I was lucky to survive a sharp exit turn with no power steering. Once the car was towed to the dealer it was found that the top radiator hose had separated from the T in the hose that goes to the alternator cooling. The estimate to repair the engine is $13,000 on a car with 72,000 miles. There is 35 hours of labor at $160 per hour and two headers at more than $2000 each plus other parts.

One month earlier, the dealer had done a full service including cooling system repairs under the extended warranty, but had not replaced the top hose assembly. It was presumably pressure tested at the time.

I purchased an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty from the dealer at the time of original car purchase from Warranty Administration Corporation. I have a copy of the Service a agreement but not a copy of the exclusions. The warranty company is refusing to pay for the repairs and so far has refused to send me a copy of the warranty terms and exclusions in a timely manner.

Any suggestions on dealing with the warranty company? And if I lose on the warranty, any suggestions on lower cost ways to repair the engine?
