Factory alarm compatability

I have pulled the factory alpine alarm from my '96 328is along with the glass sensor, LED, and the harness that goes from alarm module to the cars recepticle. (somewhere near the firewall behind the glove box)

Does anyone know if the recepticle is the same on my '97 328ic?

I mangled my hands up pulling out the pieces and did it in a darkened garage and want to know for sure before I go looking for something that may not be there.

i think it is on the right side behind the glovebox...not 100%

I think it's the same thing. From what I know, the early e36 alarms will not work in the late e36 cars and vice versa but since you are going from a 328 to a 328 with only one year difference the alarm will most probably work.
