Gasoline cover?

Hi~

My gasoline cover door is loose, when I close the door it doesn't stay shut, it stays open about an inch or so, and flaps back and forth. Anyone know a simple fix for that?

Also, it's gotten pretty cold in Southern California in the mornings about 35-40 degrees, and when I steer when the car is cold, I hear a rubber squeeking noise coming from left part of the steering wheel. Is that a problem, or anyone know how to get rid of that sound? When the car warms up, it's fine, but it's kind of annoying in the mornings...

Thanks in advance for any help!

My fuel door is bad too, and I bought a replacement, just need it sprayed and mounted. And, my steering wheel also squeeks. This is allegedly a common issue with older bimmers. No real worry. Probably just some expansion from the temperature change, and the cover rubbing.

Are you sure that the lock for the fuel door is not locked? If it is than you won't be able to close the door and it would flap around. Try closing it slowly and looking for things that are preventing complete closure. I never had any of these issues so I can't provide experienced help, I can only share my thoughts, hope you get it fixed.

Thanks for the replies:

Gasoline cover - no it's not locked, it's just loose and if I open it sometimes, it will make a clicking sound like it's locking in place, and then it will be ok, then the next time I open it, it'll get looses again.

Steering wheel - squeaks, nothing wrong with steering though, it's just annoying. It didn't happen last winter, so it's a new problem I guess...
