I'm a newbie, so this is probably a strange question, but here goes anyway...
I bought my '98 323is without incident. Then, in an unrelated yet connected set of circumstances, an inebriated version of myself lost the keys to my BMW. So, by the time I reclaimed my keys, I hadn't driven my BMW in about a week. At the time I first started my car, a strange growling noise began to whir from the dash. It sounded like it was coming from the level and direction of the glove box. I turned off the AC/fan, and the noise didn't change at all. The noise remained for a few minutes and then just went away.
Upon further investigation, I've noticed that the noise occurs every time the car is started from a "cold" state and lasts approximately until the temp needle gets out of the blue on the gauge.
What is going on? I thought at first this may be related to my climate control system, but then again, shouldn't that subside once I turn it off if it was the culprit? Could it be something with the airbag?
Thanks in advance for bumps.
