Within the past week, I have noticed a vibrating type noise while driving my car. It only occurs when I accelerate from a dead stop and there is no noise upon deceleration. I tried listening to my car pretty closely in an attempt to isolate where the sound is coming from, but no luck. The other thing is that when I accelerate after I hit 35 - 40 mph, there is no vibrating noise.
The car has about 129600 miles on it and it is a convertible -- relatively new tires and brakes, new control arm, steering column and some other work was done about a year ago, but I can't remember the laundry list of things.
It's been suggested that it could be the center support bearing or the flex disc . . .
Any ideas, suggestions? I will be calling my mechanic soon, but wanted to try and get an sense of what could be going on, if possible.
Thanks!
