Inspection Light

Hi guys, my inspection light went on a few days ago. I have a 1998 M3 with about 76,000 miles on it. The meter has no greens and shows one yellow bar. What kind of a service should I look for here. I have a non-dealership BMW certified mechanic but I want to get an idea of how much I need to drop on this. My girlfriend is still pissed off about my getting a xenon kit with ZKWs instead of the Yurman bracelet.

From what I've heard, this is a routine but pretty involved tune up. I think when it was last done around 60,000 miles and the bastards at the dealership charged about $800. So I figure a normal BMW certified mechanic would charge less. Should I expect to drop about $400-$500 on this.?

Don't think you need to be spending that kinda money, i get mine serviced by an independent mechanic which will save you money if you know a good, honest and reliable one. Service lights go out every 18K i think. Anyway check out this link should put u right:

if it doesn work properly or reset all lights just try it a couple of times, best of luck

my level 2 inspection was $750. Sucks bigtime, but they check A LOT of things. if you are a half capable mechanic you can do this stuff yourself. do a basic tune up, change ALL fluids, but the thing thats nice about having a different mechanic do it, is that they inspect all the joints and stuff, and having a fresh set of eyes might pick up something you over look. I'm sure an M3 with 76k on it has absolutely nothing wrong with it, but thats something to consider. i'd say save your money, do it yourself.
