iPOD on X5

Do any of you guys were successfull in using AUX input to connect iPod or any other portable MP3 player in your car?
I have 2003 4.4 with NAV, DSP, stock 6-CD changer, is there any way to hard wire AUX input to the audio out of the iPod? Where's the AUX in located in the car, I really hate those FM transmitter adapters.

I believe the input is located in the trunk, where your CD changer and navigation "brain" unit are.

Does anyone know a good place in NY Tri-state area to have AUX input wired into front of the car, so I can use it with my mp3 player?

Ahem... cheap way

Find a long cable and plug it into the aux input and run it to the front for the ipod

Has anyone had an aux input actually wired into an X5 for a MP3 player? I have an '01 without a CD changer, and I don't think has an aux jack anywhere. But I would like to add one if possible.....
