Hi, I have a 97 316i manual which has developed a strange knocking noise. The noise carries on even whilst idling.
Does anybody know what this could be?
There is a part that holds tension to the belt that kinda looks like a small shock next to the alternator, hold a peice of wood or a long screw drive to your ear and then touch this part and see what happens.
