I know I asked this a long time ago but I can't seem to find my post.

What is the life time of snow tires? Ive had mine for a few years now and want to know after around how much mileage they should be replaced.

Thanks! [bash]

Depends on how many miles you put on them each season? When I lived in Idaho I would run my snows, Michelin Artic Alpins, November through February and got three seasons out of them. Running them on dry pavement is hard on them.

well check and see what the tread looks like. are your sipes gone? is there enough tread there to evacuate water? (ie at least 1/4")

i got about 3 years out of my original blizzaks, and i am on season two of my new ones. if you drive on snow, and don't drive hard when you are on dry pavement you can really make them last. when it gets warm out and in the dry the compound really does melt away fast, especially at speeds and high lateral loads.

Thanks everyone.

I guess I will have to examine the treads. This would be my third season on blizzaks and typically I have put them on from the end of november through March

Unfortunately here in Jersey it snows sporadically so I often do end up driving it on dry pavement.

I will use the 1/4 depth on the tread to deteremine if its time for some new ones.

Thanks!
