Hey guys, Iv had my e30 for a long time now and I love it. But its in the point in body repair that its going to end up being cheaper to buy a new car. I was trying to find a new e30 but I dont think thats going to happen. I had some questions on an e36.

How do they compare in handeling with an e30?
Is the extra 200 lbs noticable?

Also I was going to do a m50 m3 swap in my new e30, im assuming you can still do this with an e36? What if you just convert to obdi?

Thanks

I got mine last fall. Thought heavy, when read specs, but LOVED it, still do!
I forget magazine I was flipping through in Borders, but only 400 lbs heavier than Boxter.
Having had a Miata, my weight seemed high! Seeing that I was a little heavier than the Porsche made me feel a little better.
I also feel a H#LL of a lot safer!!
(I went from Miata to M.B. 190E, to 318I) I spend a lot of time on highway, and don't begrudge the extra pounds.
The car is quick enough, handles well enough, and is comfortable as sin. I'm happy! I just want solid transportation.
I like my Brothers E46 though, bigger engine, more refined, but my car and I work very well together!
Best of luck!
