Hi Guys,
Is the M3 any less dependable than the standard 3 Series?
And is it true the M3 motor is around 15K to replace? Thanks , Bob

I'm assuming your asking about an older one b/c the new ones have great warranties. My 1998 has 76,000 miles and my mechanic said, "You think you have a lot of miles? It's not even broken in until 75,000. It'll last you longer than you want it.

I've had mine for almost two years, and the quality of my '02 M3 has been outstanding. Only had one small problem that was quickly repaired by BMW Service.

what about the e36 3 series? what is their life span? just wondering.....
general rule of thumb is BMW will last 200k miles and still pull better than most cars on the road of a similar original price. as long as the car is serviced regularly at a competent dealer for inspec1 and 2 then this will be true. my e30 325i gets serviced and looked after very well and at 150k miles it can still surprise even some motorbikers.
