Probably not too bad, the mclaren F1 gets decent gas mileage.

There is absolutely no reason to have that much power and speed anywhere over here in the states. The EB 16/4 Veyron has been around since 1998 as a concept vehicle, and it is actually based on the VW VR6 engine. The engine in and of itself actually takes up about as much space as the standard Mercedes V12.

Bugatti claims the Veyron can go that fast but it hasn't been proven yet, they have never tested the top speed. Many articles that I've read say that by the time production is finished their initial top speed claims won't be very close to the actual top speed. Unless things have changed recently, I wouldn't expect the Veyron to be beating any records. And for the record, if I had the money, I would take a few of the new Aston Martin's over an M5/McLaren F1/Veyron anyday, but that's just me.

So the general consensus here is that the major bucks needed to buy this car could be better spent elsewhere? Ok, I can live with that.

For the money they want for this thing, I could live a very nice life and retire early.
