Having just leased an '05 M3, I look at the new one with envy/contempt/admiration. Should I have waited 1 yr and a half for the new one to come out?

Probably not, but this is the first pic in which I like the new syling.

I would bet it will look much closer to the second pic than the first. The first pic is a little too radical for BMW.

I know what you mean, I was pretty surprised by the top picture, because it looks very stylized and aggressive.

400 hps is a big jump. V8 won' be a bad thing either. Hopefully it won't have 4 different driving modes, but I bet it will, to make every start of the car a game of pressing all the buttons at once, like it is now.

I can't drive the car without sport and all tractions off, it has a mind of its own otherwise.

All pic in that page are made in photoshop. I think there isn't any new M3 yet. Or they made it, but real pictures are not shown yet.

I'm pretty sure that there is a model being tested currently, maybe the top one is a drawing, but there is one going to be shown in the Geneva auto show in '06. That would be a pretty quick turn-around time to construct a prototype.
